In early October, 2021, conflicting reports of communal violence emerged from the Kiramu district of East Wollega. Various Ethiopian media outlets and social media activists claimed that there had been violence between ethnic Oromos and ethnic Amahras in the area. The initial reports gave contradictory statements on who were the preparators and who were the victims. IJA OROMIA conducted a three-week investigation interviewing several witnesses and relatives of victims. We have compiled those accounts to produce this report on the violence that occurred in Kiramu, specifically Haro town.
